Farrell Family
Allen and Sharie Farrell spent decades homesteading on the British Columbia coast, living lightly off the land. Allen built over 40 wooden boats during a 69 year period. True adventurers and free spirits, they sailed their various boats along the west coast, to Mexico and across the Pacific. WindSong was the first of their off-shore boats, a 36 foot schooner, which they built while living at Bargain Harbour in Pender Harbour. Launched in 1947, they sailed her to Hawaii and then to Fiji in 1951-52.
Allen Farrell also painted in oils for more than 50 years. His scenes of boats, people and outdoor scenes have been collected by many admirers of his work.
The Farrells enjoyed a lifetime of adventure together, spanning over 50 years, and many life-long friends were made along the way.
