Bert Mackay collected mementos from the Pender Harbour area and beyond throughout his life. His tastes were eclectic, ranging from Easthope engines to marine stoves to a bathtub full of glass net floats! Hand tools from caulking irons to clothes irons lie adjacent to antique outboard motors and a Spillsbury radio. He wanted his collection to reflect life in the Harbour and to remain there for the community to enjoy after his death. His family have donated these treasures to the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society and this collection will form the core of historical displays in the future. The collection includes:
Easthope and other historic engines
Boatbuilding and other hand tools
Marine stoves
Spillsbury radio
Eclectic collection of memorabilia
