Sarah Wray Hall Has a new Roof

The aging roof on the beloved, historic one-room schoolhouse
in Garden Bay, Pender Harbour has been replaced! With the help of generous donations from our wonderful community, we reached our fundraising goal and the new metal roof was installed on Sarah Wray Hall in September 2023 by Wilson's Cladding & Sheet Metal (Shane Wilson). The brand new metal roof replaces the over 30-year-old cedar shake roof, which was unsafe and at risk of leaking.
Through the community's incredible generosity, we raised approximately $95% of the cost off the roof ($21,000+). The remainder of the cost was made up using funds from our building maintenance budget and other areas. Next up: A heat pump for the boatbuilding workshop / storage building.
